The horizontal mixer is a mixing equipment widely used in multiple industries, and its core advantage lies in efficiently achieving uniform mixing of different materials. Adopting a horizontal structural design with a horizontal layout of the main shaft, this horizontal mixer provides a stable solution for the mixing needs of various sheet materials, powders, particles, and pastes, and is a commonly used equipment in the material mixing process. It has the characteristics of good mixing effect and simple structure, and is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, building materials and other industries. When using a horizontal mixer, selection should be based on the characteristics of the materials. For example, for materials that are easy to agglomerate, a mixer with intermittent mixing function should be selected to avoid agglomeration. For viscous materials, a horizontal mixer with a faster rotating speed of the agitator should be chosen to ensure full mixing of the materials.

Main Structure:

  • Barrel: Usually adopts a U-shaped long barrel structure, made by bending thick and wide steel plates. This design ensures that the mixed materials (powders, semi-fluids) move with low resistance inside the barrel, while having sufficient rigidity to ensure the parallelism and concentricity of the mixing shaft of the horizontal mixer.
  • Mixing Device: As the core component, it is composed of a main shaft, mixing arms, and blades. The blades are mostly spiral-shaped, with common double-layer or three-layer designs. The outer spiral gathers materials from both sides to the center, and the inner spiral conveys materials from the center to both sides, forming a vortex and accelerating the mixing speed. The mixing arms are designed based on fluid mechanics, with high strength, which can reduce resistance and wear during mixing of the horizontal mixer.

  • Sealing Device: The shaft end seal is composed of a bearing seat, bearings, and a lubricating oil circuit, which is used for supporting and positioning the mixing shaft. The high-pressure lubricating oil circuit lubricates, dissipates heat, and seals the bearing seat and the shaft head of the mixing shaft, forming a sealed oil cavity to prevent material erosion of the horizontal mixer.
  • Discharging Device: For powder materials, a pneumatic large door structure is generally adopted, which enables fast discharging without residue; for high-fineness materials or semi-fluid materials, manual butterfly valves or pneumatic butterfly valves are used in the horizontal mixer.

Working Principle:

After the motor is started, power is transmitted to the mixing main shaft through the transmission components. The mixing main shaft drives the mixing arms and blades to rotate, and the blades form a vortex in the barrel. Materials are first gathered from both sides to the center, and then conveyed from the center to both sides. Under this rotation, tumbling and sprinkling action, the materials are quickly and uniformly mixed in the barrel. After reaching the predetermined mixing time, the materials are discharged through the discharging device of the horizontal mixer.
